THE PERFECT BIG SUR WEDDING PLAN

Trying to come up with the perfect Big Sur wedding plan? Up in the mountains of Big Sur lies an incredible coastal resort called the Alila Ventana Big Sur that is the most perfect spot for your micro wedding. Not only do they have incredible views, but they have everything you could possibly want in a resort – complete with Japanese baths, one of the best restaurants I have ever experienced, electric carts to drive you around the property, hiking trails through ancient Redwood groves, and the fact that it’s an adults only resort…

If you are looking to elope or have a micro wedding in Big Sur, here’s the perfect plan:

  1. Wake up at the Alila Ventana Big Sur to incredible room service, and go visit the spa to pamper yourself before your hair and makeup artist arrives.
  2. Sit on your balcony overlooking the coast or the redwood forest while you get ready for this most perfect day. I’ll document all of these little moments to show the whole story.
  3. Have a first look in the Redwood Circle of Life (check out an elopement there here) and take some portraits surrounded by the massive trees
  4. Meet your guests over at the Sur Vista Wedding Terrace (shown in this gallery) for a ceremony overlooking the Big Sur coast
  5. After photos with family and friends, have an incredible meal all together in The Loft, catered by the Ventana’s incredible chefs. (I can personally attest that their food is INCREDIBLE)
  6. Drive down to Pfeiffer Beach for sunset portraits on the stunning and rocky Big Sur coastline. It’s only a 15 minute drive from the resort and has the most incredible glow at sunset.
  7. Finish your day together roasting smore’s or swimming in one of the many pools on the property.
  8. Spend your honeymoon at the Ventana and check out all of their incredible activities. You can go on foraging tours, take yoga classes, get a couples massage, take watercolor classes, or even rent a classic car to tour the Big Sur coastline in.

(This is not sponsored by the way – I just love this resort so much. They are so kind, so inclusive, and you leave feeling the most pampered you’ve ever felt – even without visiting the spa)

Check out this gallery from a micro wedding photoshoot to see what your day could look like. And check out all the amazing vendors!
