I’ve always dreamed of photographing a Vizcaya wedding in Miami, so after I realized that one of my favorite couples of all time who had recently gotten married, Chantelle and Junior, lived in Miami, I immediately started planning a session with them. In December, rain shortened our portrait time on their wedding day, so they were just as excited as I was to dress back up in their wedding attire, have Chantelle’s best friend and talented florist design a bouquet, and head out to explore the gorgeous venue.
From the moment I stepped onto the grounds of Vizcaya, I knew this portrait session would be something truly special. The lush gardens, adorned with vibrant blooms and stately trees, provided a picturesque setting for my couple to embrace and create memories that would last a lifetime. The sun-kissed architecture of the villa served as a stunning backdrop, adding an air of grandeur to every shot.
As the day unfolded, I was able to witness the genuine connection between my couple. Their love radiated through every photograph, capturing stolen glances, tender embraces, and joyous laughter. Whether they were wandering hand in hand through the garden paths or sharing a quiet moment on the steps of the villa, their affection for each other was palpable.
One of the highlights of the session was exploring the various hidden nooks and crannies of Vizcaya. From the secret garden alcoves to the intricately designed fountains, each location offered its own unique charm and provided endless opportunities for creativity. Shooting on 35mm and medium format film added an extra layer of nostalgia and authenticity to the images, capturing the essence of the moment in a way that digital photography simply cannot replicate.
If you’re dreaming of a romantic portrait session in a place where history and beauty collide, I invite you to consider Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. Let me capture your love amidst the timeless elegance of this iconic Miami destination, and together, we’ll create memories that will last a lifetime.
